3 year pics

We went today to have Jakson's 3yr pics made and he did great! As usual we walked away with I am sure way more pictures than we need, but this place is so great and the pricing is awesome, so it's hard not to!! Hope you enjoy these!! Doesn't he look like a little man?!?!

I'm 3 years old!!

Just lounging in my easy chair! HaHa!!

My heart is melting...

This one was so awesome for them to catch!! We had the
same photographer, Andy, who has done all of Jakson's
pics that we have had made at this studio and he always
does so great with him! If you aren't around Jakson a lot,
then I will tell you that this is a very typical expression/
pose that we see--how can you say no to that?!?!

My Baby is 3!!!

On January 10 @ 9:51am my baby turned 3yrs old!!! :-( It is such a bittersweet moment, to see him growing up into such a sweet, smart, and happy little boy, yet I am sad to see those "baby" years go! He will always be my baby though no matter how big he gets. It makes me think of that book "Love You Forever", which, if any of you out there do not have--you need it! Especially if you have a son, but even if you don't, it still is precious. Jakson calls it the "potty book" because the front cover has a little boy making a mess in a bathroom. Fair warning--have a large box of Kleenex handy when you read it and especially the first several times you try to read it out loud to your child!! Anyways, I had to work on Jakson's BDay, so these are some pics from that morning before we left. Didn't take any that night because the baby business was booming that day and so we got home pretty late. More pics to follow--his actual party is next Sat. at Chuckie Cheese. Moms, hold onto those little babies tight--it goes way too fast!!!

on his Birthday morning

Aren't I soooo cool!!!

It is really hard for him to hold up 3 fingers for some
reason, so we usually get 2 fingers and 1 thumb--still
counts as 3, right? :-)

I'm EXCITED to go to school and have cupcakes
with my friends for my birthday!!!

The Great Debate

MyHeritage: Celebrity Collage - Geneology

Well, I guess that settles the score a bit, since everyone has their own opinion as to who Jakson really looks like! :-)

Christmas 2007

We had a great Christmas this year! I was actually able to be off work for a long enough stretch to see both sides of the family, as well as being off on Christmas Eve and Day!!! We very much enjoyed the family time we had with all! Jakson did great seeing Santa Claus and the magic really happened for him this year. Of course, he was up at 5:30am with anticipation ( I thought surely I would have another year or so before that started!) He couldn't believe that the cookies, milk, and carrots (for the reindeer of course) were gone! We even had to look and make sure Santa wasn't still here. When he saw that the tree had been "decorated" with Hot Wheels and Santa had actually brought him the Thomas the Trains he had asked for, he was absolutely speechless!!! I don't know about anyone else, but I had tears in my eyes, seeing that in him for the first time! On Christmas Eve we decorated a birthday cake for Jesus, a tradition we started last year, so that we could have a way to make sure Jakson remembers the real reason for Christmas. We hope that your holidays were filled with family and laughter!

Here we go...

Never thought I would be a "blogger!" When I was sent a link to a friend's blog and saw how great it was to keep everyone updated on their family, I thought maybe in this new year I should step out and get with the program! :-) Oh, by the way, in case anyone is curious, the blog name comes from Jakson. As a newborn the nickname "Sugar Man" came about. He has always been such a sweet and lovable guy that we teased about who was going to get his "sugar" (kisses, hugs, squeezes, etc.) and it just kind of stuck. Anyways, since he is the BMOC (big man on campus) around here, I thought the name would be very fitting. Anyways, I hope you all enjoy seeing how our little family is getting along and all we are doing. We pray that 2008 brings God's greatest blessings, health, and happiness to you all!!
Love,
Rory, Courtney, and Jakson
